The story behind
Treasured Threads
My quilting journey began with
what felt like a simple challenge.
In 2017, while recovering from hip surgery, I found myself spending time on the couch searching online for accessories for our new teardrop camper. That’s when I came across the perfect fabric—tiny campers, just like ours.
When I showed my husband, he asked, “What are you going to do with that? Without hesitation, I said, “Make a quilt.” And when he gave me a doubtful look, I added, “What—you don’t think I can?”
The rest is history.
I ordered the fabric, taught myself the basics through videos and research, and created my very first quilt. It was simple, fun, and perfect for our adventures with T@j mah Small.
What started as a challenge quickly became something I fell in love with. Over the years, I continued to learn and grow—taking classes, refining my techniques, and eventually investing in my longarm machine, Lucy.
I’ve created quilts for our home, baby quilts for each of our grandchildren, a photo memory quilt for my parents, and a housewarming quilt for our son. I truly love both the process of creating and the satisfaction of finishing each piece.
The quilt that changed everything.
While finishing a quilt pieced by my grandmother and aunt, I realized that some fabrics hold more than texture—they hold stories, moments, and people we never want to forget.
Treasured Threads was created to honor those moments.
Whether I’m creating a quilt from meaningful clothing, finishing a piece someone else began, or adding the final details that bring it all together, each quilt is handled with care, intention, and deep respect for what it represents.
It is truly an honor to be trusted with something so meaningful.
And my hope is that each piece brings comfort today—and remains treasured for generations to com.
